The Dyke Neuk Show - 2010 show CANCELLED

2009 proved to be our best year ever. With a dry day we had approximately 5000 people through the gates everyone had a great day.

The committe had worked hard giving up a lot of time leading up to the show to ensure  the field looked good and everything was in place.

Entries were over 680 in the produce tent and the judges commented on the high standard. The children's entries were well supported and the Stick dressing competition thsi year had over 60 entries.

North Tyneside Pip[e Band once again marched down the main thoroughfare of the field putting a great atmosphere into the show ground.

Music was provided through the day by Stakeford Folk who played a variety of folk music.

The talented Wilkinson School of Dance with Northumbrian Clog dancing and scottish dancing took to the stage, again going down very well with the crowd.

The fun dog show was very well supported with a lot of children taking part with heir dogs.

The Cumberland Wrestling was once again popular eventhough we clashed with the biggest event in the wrestling calendar Grasmere

Other events included the  children's games.  Great fun was had by all who took part.

The ducking stool was higher than ever this year and it took guts to get up there -well done to all those who got ducked. We had Tombola, Ferret Racing and Face painting all raising money for good causes.

There was the ever popular horse shoeing demo from the local blacksmith as well as many craft stalls and a 35f oot hammer and bell.
Our most popular and unique ride was the magic carpet ride where over 600 people enjoyed being towed behind a tractor on a 'Magic Carpet'.

There were over 30 craft stalls, and many stalls raising money for charity causes.

In the afternoon the Terrier Racing was popular again.

With a final presentation of trophies and the auction the day drew to a close at approximately 5.30pm just as the rain came down.
